Where new meets seamlessly with the best of the old.

Homework Remodels is proud to be one the Valley’s first remodelers to be certified “Lead Safe” by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The EPA requires anyone working for compensation in homes built prior to 1978 to become certified in lead-safe work practices. All work for compensation disturbing lead paint is now to be performed to the EPA standards. Furthermore, you could be risking major fines and /or jail time for non-compliance. The regulations also apply to landlords working on or hiring work done to their rental property.

Homework remodels has always worked hard to operate with clean work sites. In addition, we strive to minimize dust exposure to our clients and their homes. We are pleased with the new higher EPA standards for work in older homes. These regulations will ensure that everyone working in older homes will be required to protect their clients. Without this regulation,  health issues from exposure to lead paint can be debilitating.

We urge homeowners to follow lead-safe work practices and insist that anyone else working in your home do the same.

Our recent EPA training classes have illustrated to us that lead dust exposure needs to be taken seriously as a health risk to our clients and our craftsmen. Please join us in working to make our homes a safer place by respecting the dangers of lead paint when you remodel.
