Beauty, Peace & Light

When asked what she was looking for in a kitchen remodel, our client answered, “Beauty, Peace and Light”.  And that is exactly what we did! First of all, here at Homework Remodels, we strive to make our clients dreams come to fruition. In addition, our nationally certified Kitchen & Bath designers will assess your existing kitchen to see how we can make it a more functional and user friendly space. While this kitchen had a great floor plan and quality cabinets, it also had some major issues. Because, it lacked storage space and its’ finishes dated the home. Now, this space is refinished & remarkable!

Rich Espresso Cabinets

The appliances, existing cabinet color, laminate counter top and wall finishes desperately needed to be replaced. Due to the fact that the ceilings were so high, our kitchen designer suggested adding a second row of upper cabinetry to provide for more storage. Furthermore, she proposed having the existing cabinets refinished, as they were in excellent shape. In addition, the new cabinets were added incorporating either a solid door or glass inserts. Inside the existing tall pantry unit, we added 4 more roll-out trays, for a total of eight. Then, applied moldings were added to the back and sides of the island to “dress it up” a little. Panels were added to cover any exposed edges of the new cabinets. Finally, all of the cabinets were then painted a rich Espresso color, crown molding was added, LED tape lights, new door hardware and soft-close hinges completed the cabinet install.

Refinished & Remarkable

While River White granite calms and quietly contrasts the dark espresso cabinet color;  Calcata Oro marble was used on the backsplash for its’ colors and reflective properties. Then, wine storage was added at the desk area and cubbies were built under the pass through to show off memorabilia. The homeowner chose a soft gray paint color for the main areas of the kitchen and then added a pop of color with a cheerful yellow accent. In addition, we replaced the main window in this kitchen, a fixed glass panel. As a result, our homeowner has a beautiful and practical garden window in which to grow fresh herbs.
