Charming Bungalow Kitchen Remodel

Historic Design with Classic Finishes

This charming bungalow’s kitchen is a nod to historic design with classic finishes.  The kitchen’s black, white and light grey palette adds a charming, vintage feel to the space, represented to be truer to the home’s history, but in a modern way.

Bringing New Life to the Home’s Original Design

We gave new life to an original built-in pantry by adding new doors and drawer fronts.  A part of the homes original design it now resembles the new shaker style cabinets.  In addition, we were able to feature a mobile island that conceals the basement entrance as it moves away from the wall and serves as additional counter space when preparing for parties or Sunday dinner.

The simplicity of the subway tiles adds a rhythm to the space as it flows along the bottom of the cabinetry.  It’s cool appearance that ends with the sunlight shining through the glass door and side lite is a great focal point. The radiant backsplash tiles make an impact all its own, adding dimension to the space.

The Formica abrasion-resistant high-gloss decorative laminate countertop mimics the look of marble but is tough-wearing and low-maintenance. This budget-friendly option adds the right amount of pattern with the subtlety of its graphics.

The historic replica look flooring was selected for this high traffic area.  Armstrong Luxe Ridge core in Tropical Oak warms the cool colors.  This color selection has brought energy, general freshness and surprising versatility to the space.

Finishing Touches

Then, we used Sherwin-Williams Comfort Grey paint and Stainless-steel finishes to complement each other and give it a timeless look. In addition, the beautiful upholstered toile roller shades add comfort and warmth to the room, while the traditional lantern-like fixture over the sink has an Industrial touch that is true to the character of the home.
